Sailing around the Komodo islands was up high on my travel bucket list and this year I've managed to tick that off.  Flores has become a popular destination for local Indonesians as well as international wanderlusters so if you are planning a trip to Indonesia then I would highly recommend to visit this place.

HOW TO GET TO LABUAN BAJO
In order to sail around the islands you first need to fly to Labuan Bajo, a quaint fishing town located at the western end of East Nusa Tenggara Flores. Garuda Indonesia, the national airline of Indonesia, offers direct flights from Jakarta to Labuan Bajo. Other budget airlines such as Sriwijaya Air and Lion Air have flights from Jakarta that require a transit in Bali before reaching Labuan Bajo. So if you have plans to go to Bali you can easily reach Labuan Bajo from there.

3 DAYS 2 NIGHTS SAILING KOMODO ISLANDS BOAT TRIP EXPERIENCE
There are actually two ways to explore the islands around Komodo. First would be to stay in Labuan Bajo and take a day tour to the places you would like to visit. Second would be to live on a boat, sail across the ocean whilst island hopping here and there. I opted for the latter one because my wanderlust soul was in need of adventure.  I booked an open group trip via Indonesia Juara and loved every second of the living on a boat experience. If you are looking for a private boat tour they also offer it. This would be perfect if you travel with a bunch of friends or family members. I actually booked this tour in advance but I know some more adventures travellers just hop on a plane to Labuan Bajo and go the main port to find pinisi boats that offer a similar experience. If you pick the latter one make sure that the boat you hire is in a good state, you don't want your adventure to turn into a Robinson Crusoe experience - #FailedTrip.

By the way depending on the price you pay don't expect too much of a luxury on the simple pinisi boats because at the end of it it's all about admiring the views that you get to witness maybe once in your life. Normally all the boats are equipped with air conditioning, a toilet, a shower and offer local Indonesian cuisines during your stay.  I made a list of other sailing companies that offer a similar experience so to view it please scroll down.

Sailing with "stranger" boat mates across the ocean was such a memorable experience. And for those who are planning a trip down to Labuan Bajo you would not be disappointed. Literally every corner is so paradisiac and makes your jaw drop - #NoJoke.  We actually sailed south from Labuan Bajo and then made a loop up north.  Check the map for a more visual understanding of the sailing route.

Every sailing boat tour has different routes but the main places to visit are:
* Rinca Island
* Kelor Island
* Komodo Island
* Padar Island
* Pink Beach
* Gili Lawa Darat
* Manta Point
* Taka Makassar Island
* Sebayur
* Kanawa Island

The heat in this area can be quite tough and harsh so don't forget to drink a lot, apply at least a sunscreen that is spf 80, bring an instagrammable hat and some aloe vera in case you end up with a sunburn - #Ouch.  For those who need to be constantly connected with the online world purchase a mobile card from the provider Telkomsel that offers 4G even in the middle of the ocean. Bring some snack for your fellow boat friends because you will be staying with them for quite some time so it's good to get to know each other via food -#FoodieForLife. If you are someone who is sensible to the sea waves then bring motion sickness medicine, but honestly speaking none of us on the boat got sick - #SmoothRide. The trekking of Kelor Island, Rinca Island, Padar Island and Gili Lawa Darat can be quite tough but once on the top, for those who love to capture pretty pictures, you can definitely change into a more instagram worthy attire.

Here's a little sneak peak of what to expect during your trip to the beautiful islands.

OTHER RELIABLE BOAT COMPANY FOR SAILING AROUND KOMODO ISLANDS
Finding the perfect boat tour online for Komodo can be quite hard. Some book the trip via a local travel agency while others will book it directly online. I  found some online tours that appears to be reliable and gathered it to make this list for your ease. So if you are planning to go to Labuan Bajo check these ones out and decide which one suits your budget:
* Indonesia Juara
* Flores Runaway
* Le Pirate Explorer Cruise
* Lazy Pirate Cruises
* Ocean Pure Charter
* Komodo La Marina
* Plataran Private Cruises

THINGS TO DO IN LABUAN BAJO
I landed in Labuan Bajo a day before the sailing tour and whilst I did a few things around the city I realized that there was more to do that I actually did not know about.

First of all there is no legal taxi company in Labuan Bajo so in order to get around you need to bargain with the cars along the road that act as taxi drivers. Or if you know how to ride a scooter then hire one maybe via the hotel.

As I was a bit ignorant of what Labuan Bajo has to offer I actually only did two things there. One was to trek the Love Hill / Bukit Cinta to get a glimpse of a pretty view and the other thing was to admire the magical sunset at Paradise Bar which I highly recommend to do. It was just so relaxing to sit there and witness the beauty of nature.

Other things that I wished I knew there was to do in Labuan Bajo are Mirror Rock / Batu Cermin,  Rangko Cave,  Cunca Wulang Waterfall and Wae Rebo Village.

So there you go that was my Komodo island travel guide I hope it inspired you to pack your bags and land in this paradisiac corner of the world.

Located in the south part of Bali, Pandawa Beach offers mesmerizing crystal clear turquoise water that will instantly capture your heart.

If you follow me on Instagram (@nathalie__ale) you would have already seen a couple of pictures of this breathtaking beach. I was in Bali attending a family wedding which was located around the Pandawa Beach area and knew with a heartbeat that I needed to go and check it out. This was my first time at this paradisiac beach and pretty sure won't be the last one.

Pandawa Beach used to be known as a hidden spot but with travellers sharing pictures across the globe, this beach is no secret to many coastline seekers. It officially opened in 2012 and has since been quite a popular natural landmark to visit.

HOW TO GET THERE
When in Bali one must either rent a motorcycle or a car to go around places. I went with a car and had to pay an entrance fee of 20.000 rupiah - less than 2 USD.

Once arrived in Pandawa Beach, don't settle for the first sun bed, go a bit further away to your right so that you avoid the crowds - I am all about avoiding the crowds. You can rent a sun bed for the whole day but they tend to give different prices to locals and foreigners. There was also a private beach section where you need to pay an extra fee but personally not worth it.

BEST TIME TO GO THERE
Weekdays and especially early mornings are definitely the best time to go to any beaches. I always like to avoid crowds so that I can have the beach to myself and can enjoy taking some beautiful pictures - Instagrammable moments.

FOOD & BEVERAGES
There are plenty little restaurants that offer snacks, meals, coconut water and even other beverages at a reasonable pricing. You definitely don't need to bring your own picnic. I personally recommend that you try a roasted corn. I don't know why but the combination of the sea breeze and hot roasted corn feels kinda comforting - #FoodieForLife.

ACTIVITIES
The water is so clear that you definitely need to go for a swim. The water can feel a bit cold but not freezing. The current was quite strong when I went there, so that would explained why it was cold. There are also some water sports that you can do at the beach. I actually went canoeing and explored the sea side where there was some sort of cave and also some reef. A pretty fun experience!

Pandawa Beach has definitely gained a soft spot in my heart and for those going to Bali you might want to give this beach some love and attention. Definitely a must if you are around the area.

I was blessed enough to had the opportunity to live in Beijing and seriously wanted to move there for another year or so but life took a different route.  It was seriously one of the best experiences I could ever ask for and I cherish every moment of it. From historical architectures to modern open rooftop bars, Beijing offered a variety of authentic places that made this fast paste city so vibrant and full of hidden gems. So here are eight places to visit in Beijing or should I write my all time favorite places in Beijing - oh well you decide.

798 Art District
Located in Dashanzi of the Chaoyang Dristrict, 798 Art District is an art complex that used to be a military factory. It has it's own unique vibe compare to other zones in Beijing and I highly recommend going if you love anything artsy. Local artists showcase their artwork in different galleries and the whole district is full of modern art representations. Yes there are installations, paintings and hidden graffiti scattered around this district. And if I am not mistaken they change them up quite often. Every street you turn too has it's own aesthetic and the different shops around there have unique concepts. There are local fashion designers showcasing their latest fashion items as well.

Tian An Men Square
Do I really need to dedicate one paragraph to this national symbol of China? This historical square is absolutely stunning. Its wide open air arena makes every historical monument around the area look impressive - skyscrapers are prohibited to be build around the area.

Summer Palace
When in Beijing, one must visit the Summer Palace. This Chinese garden masterpiece has numerous splendid halls that will make your jaw drop. It's so vast and every corner seems to be so magical. There are romantic gardens, lakes and little palaces scattered around the property. It has become a recreational park where every corner is perfect for an instapic - except for the thousands of tourists constantly on your picture during summer months. The intricate details on each building make everything so fascinating - like how on earth are humans capable of buildings such things? This picture that I posted here don't give enough justice on how massive the Summer Palace ground is - it's a one-whole day kinda activity.

Jin Din Xuan Restaurant
Being such a foodie, this post would not have been perfect without at least mentioning my favorite dim sum restaurant in Beijing. Jin Din Xuan located in the Dongcheng district is a four story high restaurant that serves delicious Cantonese cuisine twenty-four hour seven days a week. Let me write that again twenty-four hour seven days a week without fail. There is constantly a queue and you can't escape the waiting list, just be patient because the food is EPIC. Everything is so delicious and well seasoned. I constantly dream of their dim sums - #TakeMeBack.

Great Wall Of China
One of the seven wonders of the world, it would be absolutely devastating to not set foot on this massive fortress. It might be quite a hustle to go there and is definitely a one-whole day affair. The little uneven human handmade steps aren't really enjoyable to walk on but well anything for the experience because boy was it worth it. I would advise to go there as early as possible so that you can personally have a peaceful moment with it and take everything in. The views are absolutely breathtaking and again how on earth did they manage to make such a statement. It blows my mind every time I see my Great Wall of China album.

Hutong
The Hutong in Beijing used to be a traditional Chinese residency neighborhood. It is composed with little narrow alleys that are quaint and also cute. Nowadays it has multiple curated shops, delicious restaurants and adorable little hostels. It has definitely a younger vibe to it, as many teenagers as well as young adults love to hang out there. The atmosphere is quite unique on weekends as it is jam packed with humans. It is a great source of entertainment for locals and foreigners.

Fragrant Hills
Fragrant Hills is one of those places that needs to be visited during the fall. Located in the northwestern part of Beijing, this imperial garden possesses a wonderful view of the city of Beijing. This huge - yes everything in China is massive - garden is covered with pinecone trees, maple trees, smoke trees and persimmon trees. During the fall season, leaves turn golden and the surrounding hills have this beautiful orangish / reddish gradient tone to it. This park is basically a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and lets you reconnect with nature. I advise you to not wear heels as going up the medium height hill - for me it was a mountain - involves a bit of stair climbing - #ComfyShoesAllDay.

Jade Lake Park
Well this is again another huge park type of garden situation in Beijing. I mean what's new the city of Beijing is seriously filled with beautiful massive parks. I would recommend going to Yuyuantan or Jade Lake Park during the cherry blossom festival month. There are so many types of cherry blossoms that all you want to do is dance and twirl below the trees. I went there on a weekend and I remembered that it was filled with so many people that capturing one single picture was a fight in itself but definitely worth it. If you are on a holiday during springtime - late march - in Beijing visit this park during weekdays and early so that you can escape the human flooding.

That was my eight must go to places to visit in Beijing. I hope that my pictures transported you all to Beijing and that this post inspires you all to pack your bags and experience the diverse culture of China. I believe that one must at least visit China once in their life!

This past weekend I went on a trip to Bali to attend a friend's wedding and took the opportunity to have a little short getaway as well - if you follow me on Instagram then you would have seen some pictures. I was there for three days and two nights, more precisely for seventy-two hours. I have been to Bali many times and so I though it would be fun to do a travel guide from my perspective.

AREA TO STAY
If anyone wonders where to stay in Bali for a first timer I would recommend finding a hotel around Legian or Seminyak. It is still close to the sea, the shopping areas and the restaurants and yet you can feel the warm welcome of Balinese hospitality. However if you are looking for peace and quite as well as being close to greenery and rice fields, Ubud is the place to go but do bare in mind that hotel prices are definitely more on the pricier side. For beautiful white sandy beaches that are far away from the crowd, spend a night or two in Nusa Dua or Uluwatu.

ENJOY THE SUNRISE OR SUNSET
No matter where I travel I would always try to find a spot where I could admire a magical sunrise or sunset. In Bali there are many restaurants or cafés along the coast that lets you admire these type of blissful moments but you can also just pick a beach and enjoy mother's nature magic.

A LITTLE SHOPPING WON'T HURT THE BANK
It is seriously so hot in Bali, that all you need to wear is a cute bikini cover up, a lightweight skirt or a  fun ruffle romper. And if you feel that you did not pack these fashion items then don't be sacred Bali has you covered. There are so many small boutiques from Kuta to Seminyak but a tip here is to find a place where you can bargain. I find that some stores, not owned by locals, tend to be on the pricier side.  My go to places for a good bargain are Seminyak Square and the stores along Double Six road.

A favorite store of mine in Bali or must I say designer is Magali Pascal. She has three stores around the world Paris, Sydney and Bali. And her designs are just up my alley, feminine bohemian with a bit of sex appeal. Her pieces are one of a kind and whilst yes, it can be on the pricier side, she organizes a sale every year on the month of June from 50% to 70% in stores and on her website.

FOOD LOVER
If you are staying for a really short period in Bali, like I did, then one main activity to do is restaurant / café hopping. In Bali you can find it all from vegan healthy food to sinful meaty hearty meals. The best find on this trip is La Lucciola located next to Petitenget Beach in Seminyak. They serve delicious Italian cuisine in a open air venue. If you want to enjoy the sunset whilst eating, I recommend to book in advance as it is a very popular restaurant. Another great find on this trip is The Dusty Café also in Seminyak. The decor of the café is very cozy and has a certain shabby chic with a hipsteri-sh vibe. I popped there to have a little pick me up afternoon snack and took a delicious chocolate mousse made with coconut milk.

SOAK UP THE SUN
Do spend a few hours lounging around the pool area of your hotel and soak all the sun you can get. We all need as much vitamin D as we can get to boost our mood, but please don't forget to put on sunscreen as looking like a grilled shrimp ain't sexy at all.

CAPTURE THE MOMENTS
If you've traveled far away to experience Bali then don't forget to capture every beautiful moments you create on this island. Nowadays a mobile phone can capture such good quality pictures that there is no need for fancy equipment to shoot travel memories. If you want to see more pictures of Bali then do check out my other post on 3 Reasons To Love Bali.

Tanjung Bira or Cape Bira, located in South Sulawesi, is truly a hidden gem in Indonesia. If you don't believe me just scroll and look at the pictures I took two years ago. I have to admit that even these pictures don't do justice on how really beautiful Cape Bira is.

If you are a fan of white sandy beaches, love crystal clear blue seas and secretly hate crowds whilst you are on a short escape, I would highly recommend to travel to Sulawesi and spend a night or two at this paradisiac place.

Whilst I know that this hidden gem is a place for diving fanatics, it is also a tranquil location to escape the hustle and bustle of Jakarta, to unwind and especially to have some sort of a technology detox time in order to clean body, mind and soul. What I am trying to say here, is that wifi won't be your best friend on this trip.

Now that you have decided to escape your everyday routine, let me tell you how to get to Tanjung Bira. You will need to fly to the city of Makassar located in Sulawesi in order to reach the cape. Once in Makassar, you will need to hire a car or if you prefer to look for some sort of tour to bring you to this magnificent location, there are a few ones online. You can check more information on Trip Advisor.

The drive from Makassar to Tanjung Bira is around 5 to 6 hours depending on the traffic. Along the way you will also get to view other sublime sceneries. The road is pretty good so nothing to worry about.

If you are looking for something peaceful with great comfort, I would recommend staying at the Amatoa Resort. It is a beautiful resort located on a cliff, so the view is absolutely mesmerising.  And if you are someone who love instagrammable places well Cape Bira is the perfect spot for you to capture beautiful moments.

The resort has beautiful rooms that are separated into bungalows. The facility of the resort include a restaurant, private access to the sea, air conditioning in each rooms and an infinity pool that lets you admire beautiful sunrises or sunsets that Bira has to offer.
