Tanjung Bira, a Hidden Gem In Indonesia

by - Friday, June 02, 2017

Tanjung Bira or Cape Bira, located in South Sulawesi, is truly a hidden gem in Indonesia. If you don't believe me just scroll and look at the pictures I took two years ago. I have to admit that even these pictures don't do justice on how really beautiful Cape Bira is.

If you are a fan of white sandy beaches, love crystal clear blue seas and secretly hate crowds whilst you are on a short escape, I would highly recommend to travel to Sulawesi and spend a night or two at this paradisiac place.

Whilst I know that this hidden gem is a place for diving fanatics, it is also a tranquil location to escape the hustle and bustle of Jakarta, to unwind and especially to have some sort of a technology detox time in order to clean body, mind and soul. What I am trying to say here, is that wifi won't be your best friend on this trip.

Now that you have decided to escape your everyday routine, let me tell you how to get to Tanjung Bira. You will need to fly to the city of Makassar located in Sulawesi in order to reach the cape. Once in Makassar, you will need to hire a car or if you prefer to look for some sort of tour to bring you to this magnificent location, there are a few ones online. You can check more information on Trip Advisor

The drive from Makassar to Tanjung Bira is around 5 to 6 hours depending on the traffic. Along the way you will also get to view other sublime sceneries. The road is pretty good so nothing to worry about.

If you are looking for something peaceful with great comfort, I would recommend staying at the Amatoa Resort. It is a beautiful resort located on a cliff, so the view is absolutely mesmerising.  And if you are someone who love instagrammable places well Cape Bira is the perfect spot for you to capture beautiful moments.

The resort has beautiful rooms that are separated into bungalows. The facility of the resort include a restaurant, private access to the sea, air conditioning in each rooms and an infinity pool that lets you admire beautiful sunrises or sunsets that Bira has to offer.
